It’s been awhile, but I just wanted to say this. If any of my friends, who more less appreciate what Obama’s done in his first years think that this one’s gonna be a breeze, we do so at our own peril. Romney is a smart guy and while he may seem like a robot, he’s been shown to have some middle of the road appeal when he’s not touting a more right wing mantra. We’re about to see if the Tea Party has as much sway as they think they have, the 99% movement, while we understand the sentiment, is largely not a huge factor in most of our lives.
Romney could win.
He’d be somewhat more moderate than his more ideological political persona in the White House, but, to me, he represents an agenda that furthers lower/middle/upper disparities and returns us more less to the same system that ruined our economy. This is about the people with the money, the power and the education taking full advantage of a system that benefits their debt driven profit motives and then blaming less benefitted people (some of which are irresponsible morons in their own right) for poor judgement. But at least the morons aren’t so immersed in greed that they can’t see when enough is enough. Please, job creators, you say the government shouldn’t create jobs, then you do it. Your taxes are as low as ever, you get unlimited borrowing power the stimulate the economy, and you sit on everything you earn. If we were good neighbors, I’d do everything to pay my share of the fence after I knocked it down with my car. We’re just asking that the most benefitted people in our system realize why (more than mere “I worked hard”) they may have been successful. A lot of us work hard. we just don’t expect it to weigh on other people’s lives they way you do.
Mitt Romney champions the tactics of a purely capitalist system. Capitalism is good, but not when it’s the only ideology on the table. Obama has shown preference for both sides of this fight. As much as some may reject that, it’s true. His more left leaning decisions get blasted as a Communist, Mao-loving, terrorist-loving agenda. His more right-decisions are seen as not ever enough or pandering to the right. The truth is, he’s a moderate. That’s why everyone’s somewhat disappointed. I say, “long live moderation”.
I could go on, but this can be tedious for a lot of people. Just don’t get caught sitting on your hands this go. Obama’s not perfect by any stretch, but anti-union, anti gay-marriage, anti-more moderated tax system, anti-sensible regulation, anti-moderate diplomatic relationships is knocking at the door.

I’m just going to come right out and say it. I love you Rush Limbaugh. After many years of despising your every word and cursing your every move, I’ve finally realized that my deep feelings for you aren’t hate, but love. I think my turn of heart came when I realized that your callousness and intolerance are simply the way you protect some raw nerve that sits deep in your soul. Somewhere along the lines you learned that the best way to protect yourself from the pain of being Rush Limbaugh was to turn your animosity outwards on the world around you. I see it now and I’m sorry I didn’t see it sooner. The moral superiority that you claim God gave you made you feel a little less insignificant in the world. Finally, after all the years of feeling sad and empty inside, you were superior and the mere convenience of not being held into account by anyone other than your spiritual guide seems almost too perfect an excuse to give up. It should have been right there for me to see. The radical weight shifts, the prescription drugs, lashing out at people more successful than you; all meant to fill the void of being a sad person with a closet full of regret. Sure, you’re financially successful and you’ve definitely carved out a niche for yourself in a world that rewards a seething animosity for anything outside your narrow vision of good, but I’m wondering if you might be a happier person if you just had a little love in your life. So, while it was hard for me to come to terms with, I finally recognize that hatred for you will only make you stronger—almost like a violent storm that gains strength over warm waters. You and your cohorts will continue to prosper financially by feeding on your flock and burning the fields with your vitriol, but I truly hope, on your death bed, you’re able to look back on your life and feel as if you made this world a better place.
